CATEGORY: Drama, LGM/Skinner/Other
SYNOPSIS: Does Frohike want to see the daughter that was taken from
him?
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This series will be called the "Home at Last" fics.
The title is inspired by the song from the movie "Yentl". See if
you
can catch the clues to an important part of her and Frohike's lives
in the next part. First person to guess gets the privilege of
writing a sex scene between her and another character of my choosing
later. (evil grin)
"Hey Doohickey, where you going?"
"I gotta meet an old friend."
Byers looked interested. "How long will you be gone?" Frohike put
on his hat and glared at their questions.
"I don't know, ok? Should I call if I'm gonna be late, mom?" He
crankily pulled on his jacket and left the basement. Byers just
raised an eyebrow at Langly.
"Yo Byers, let's go."
"Go where?"
Langly had his windbreaker on and was halfway to the door. "C'mon,
don't you wanna know who his `old friend' is?"
"It's not right."
"Funny how that's not stopping you from following me."
Fortunately, neither Anna nor Frohike and Skinner noticed the van
parked down the street from the café. They watched from the
periscope cam as Frohike and Skinner approached the sidewalk tables
where a single person sat. Langly whispered to Byers although he
knew he couldn't be heard. "So who's this chickadee? She seems
kinda young for him."
Byers thought she looked familiar, but just couldn't place it. "I
don't know. The only local hit on her face is a driver's license
belong to one Miss Anne Jacobs, age 31."
Langly looked vaguely disgusted. "Man, if she's an `old friend',
then he's a real cradle-robber." They watched as the two men
approached her and she looked up. A huge smile broke out and she
seemed hesitant. Frohike said something, and the smile got even
bigger as she threw her arms around him. Even Skinner looked
pleased
at the situation. They hugged for a long moment, then she gestured
for them to sit down. "Damn, we don't have the directional mike
right now."
Byers tugged on his arm. "Let's go, this is obviously a private
moment. We'll go back to the warehouse, then see if Frohike wants
to
share his news when he returns. Come on, Langly. Let the lovebirds
be." Byers' mistaken assumption caused a pang in his heart and a
thought of Susanne. Sometimes the universe wasn't very fair, he
thought.
